“The Nigerian Military School (NMS) Old Boys forum has announced with deep sorrow the passing of Colonel Hassan Stan-Labo (Rtd.), a distinguished security consultant and defence strategist. Col. Labo, a short-service officer who was part of the 1979 NMS Boy set and trained at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), left an indelible mark on the Nigerian military landscape.

Air Commodore Sani Zakari (Rtd.) personally confirmed the sad news, underscoring the significance of Col. Labo’s contributions to national security and his vibrant presence on television screens. The announcement was made through a statement shared on the forum’s platform, expressing heartfelt condolences to Col. Labo’s family and loved ones.

Col. Hassan Stan-Labo was renowned for his passionate advocacy for national security issues, often delivering emotional and poignant insights during his media appearances. With a distinguished military career that included deployments to Liberia, Sierra Leone, Western Darfur, and the Bakassi Peninsula, Col. Labo brought a wealth of combat operational experience to his role as a security consultant and defence strategist.

A native of Kachia LGA in Kaduna State, Col. Labo tragically collapsed and passed away at his residence in Lagos on Monday, April 15, 2024. His untimely demise has left a void in the hearts of his colleagues, friends, and the wider community, as they fondly remember his dedication to service and commitment to ‘FIX NIGERIA NOW!’ – a cause he passionately championed.”
