Police nab serial goat rustler in Kaduna

    The Kaduna State Police Command has reported the arrest of a suspected goat rustler in Pasali Konu village, Kagarko Local Government Area. The command’s spokesperson, Assistant Superintendent Mansur Hassan, informed the News Agency of Nigeria on Sunday in Kaduna that the arrest took place on Saturday.

    According to Hassan, a surveillance team and vigilante members, conducting visibility patrol on November 11 at about 0430hrs, apprehended the 20-year-old suspect from Igwa village in Kagarko LGA. The suspect was reportedly armed with dangerous weapons and wearing a facemask.

    Hassan explained that the arrested suspect, who specialized in stealing goats, admitted that there were two individuals involved in the act, but the other suspect managed to escape when they spotted the patrol team.

    “The other suspect who is at large ran to an unknown destination, but we will trail him and arrest him,” Hassan assured.

    The police spokesperson stated that after preliminary investigations, the arrested suspect would be charged to court. He emphasized the commitment of the command to eliminate all forms of criminality in the state and appealed for timely and useful information to facilitate proactive measures against crime.
