Tinubu reviews change of Guards
On the occasion of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, President Bola Tinubu served as the Special Guest of Honour at the change of Guards ceremony held at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The event, themed “Nigeria @63, Renewed Hope for Unity and Prosperity,” was a significant part of the anniversary celebrations.
During the event, Tinubu, along with other members of the administration, reviewed various activities including the Submission of Parade, Independence Anniversary Parade, and Guards Brigade Silent Drill. The ceremony was attended by prominent personalities including Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Chief Justice of the Federation, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ministers, Head of the Civil Service, Permanent Secretaries, and members of the Diplomatic Corps.
In his address, President Tinubu emphasized the diversity and unity of Nigeria, highlighting the nation’s strength in its multicultural heritage. He acknowledged the challenges faced by the country but expressed optimism in overcoming them through reforms, compassion, and commitment. Tinubu stressed the importance of enduring the current difficulties for the sake of a better future and called on all Nigerians to rally behind the administration’s initiatives.
He also discussed the government’s focus on workers’ welfare, the deployment of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) cars to reduce transportation costs, and fiscal policies aimed at attracting businesses and generating employment for the youth. Tinubu emphasized the need for unity, courage, compassion, and commitment as essential elements for building a better Nigeria.
