80-year-old man dies in well in Kano
In a tragic incident, an 80-year-old man named Malam Rabiu, who was known as Na Allah Siraka, has passed away in a well located in Sabon Sara, Gidan Aminu Ado, in the Gwale Local Government Area (LGA) of Kano State.
The news was conveyed through a statement issued to reporters by the Public Relations Officer of the Kano State Fire Service, Saminu Abdullahi, on a Sunday in Kano. According to Mr. Abdullahi, the incident occurred on that Sunday morning when an emergency call was received around 11:00 a.m. from a person named Hassan Abduallhi, reporting that a man had become trapped inside a well.
Upon receiving the call, the fire service immediately dispatched its rescue team to the scene at approximately 11:07 a.m. Mr. Abdullahi noted that Malam Rabiu had been living alone in his house.
Regrettably, the fire service’s rescue team was able to retrieve Malam Rabiu’s lifeless body from the well. The victim’s remains were subsequently handed over to the Ward Head of Sabon Sara, Muhammad Salisu-Iman.
The exact cause of this tragic incident is currently under investigation, as authorities seek to determine the circumstances surrounding Malam Rabiu’s unfortunate demise.
