Sit-At-Home: Ohanaeze, South-East leaders place $500,000 bounty on Simon Ekpa

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, in conjunction with political leaders from the Southeast, has offered a reward of $500,000 for anyone who can provide useful information about the whereabouts of Simon Ekpa and aid in his subsequent capture and arrest.

Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based Biafra agitator, has been accused of being responsible for recent violence, insecurity, and economic disruptions in Southeast Nigeria. He is alleged to have orchestrated a sit-at-home order that paralyzed the region for one week in early July 2023, resulting in loss of lives and severe economic and social disruptions.

Recent developments suggest that Ekpa was located in Espoo city, Finland, on July 21, 2023, but managed to escape capture with serious injuries. He is believed to be receiving medical treatment in an undisclosed hospital in Havana, Cuba, where he is reportedly undergoing urgent plastic surgery.

Despite Ekpa’s efforts to deceive his followers with old recorded videos, Ohanaeze Ndigbo maintains that he is a threat to the region’s stability and peace. He has declared another two weeks of sit-at-home from July 31 to August 14, 2023, challenging the authority of Southeast Governors who are constitutionally responsible for safeguarding the lives and properties of citizens.

Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls on the people of Southeast Nigeria to unite and confront these security challenges head-on. Ekpa’s actions and his self-proclaimed role as the Prime Minister of the Biafra Government in Exile, along with his declaration of a Biafra referendum, pose serious risks of civil unrest and chaos in the region.
