Drama as another APC faction suspends Ganduje

“Fresh Twist in APC Crisis: New Ward Executives Suspend Ganduje”

“The ongoing crisis within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kano has taken a new turn with the emergence of new ward executives from Ganduje Ward issuing a fresh suspension to the embattled national chairman of the party, Abdullahi Ganduje.

Reports from DAILY NIGERIAN reveal that the APC leadership in Mr. Ganduje’s hometown had previously suspended the former governor over allegations of corruption. Despite this, the state-level party voided the suspension and pledged to sanction those behind the purported suspension, disowning them in the process.

In response to the state-level intervention, a Kano State High Court granted an ex parte order affirming the suspension of the embattled former governor. However, Mr. Ganduje sought relief from a Federal High Court in Kano, which also granted him an ex parte order to halt his suspension.

Adding to the complexity, a group of APC members claiming to represent Ganduje ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government area and elected on July 31, 2021, have now issued a fresh suspension to Mr. Ganduje.

Addressing journalists in Kano, the secretary of APC at Ganduje ward, Ja’afar Adamu Ganduje, speaking on behalf of 11 other executive members, cited alleged anti-party activities, internal conflicts, and failure in the 2023 elections as reasons for the new suspension.

Mr. Adamu-Ganduje, who is Mr. Ganduje’s nephew, accused the embattled APC national chairman of igniting conflicts of interest leading to factionalism within the party. He also alleged that Mr. Ganduje had not been fulfilling his statutory party dues.

Asserting the authenticity of their leadership, Mr. Adamu-Ganduje denounced two factions claiming to be executive members from the Ganduje ward, labeling them as fake and impostors. He accused these factions of being formed by the former governor to sow division and confusion within the party.

Mr. Adamu-Ganduje concluded by warning of potential legal action against the two factions that had earlier claimed to be the executive members of Ganduje ward, further complicating the already tumultuous situation within the APC in Kano.”
