Putin accepts invite to visit North Korea in future
North Korean state media has reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin has accepted an invitation to visit North Korea from leader Kim Jong Un. Kim extended the invitation during a reception held at the Vostochny cosmodrome in Russia’s Far East.
According to North Korean state media, Putin accepted the invitation “with pleasure.” Following the farewell, Kim departed for his next destination.
Kim’s visit to Russia was seen as a significant opportunity to elevate the “cooperative relations” between the two countries to a higher level.
The meeting between Putin and Kim marked the North Korean leader’s first visit to Russia in four years.
