Nigerian Army will ensure total defeat of insurgents, others – Lagbaja

In his Easter Message to troops and families of the Nigerian Army, Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lt.-Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, reiterated the commitment and determination of the Nigerian Army to defeat insurgents, marauding bandits, and other forms of aggression threatening the country’s peace.

Delivering the message in Abuja on Sunday, Mr. Lagbaja urged all officers and soldiers to pray for continued operational successes and uphold the values of love, peace, and sacrifice in fulfilling their constitutional duties.

Under his leadership, Mr. Lagbaja highlighted the implementation of quality training and equipping to address the nation’s security threats. He lauded the army’s successes in various operations, including Operation Hadin Kai in the North East and internal security operations nationwide.

Addressing recent tragedies, such as the murder of colleagues in Okuama Community, Delta State, Mr. Lagbaja urged steadfastness, diligence, and commitment to duties while honoring the fallen soldiers.

Expressing gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for his support, Mr. Lagbaja reaffirmed the army’s loyalty to defending Nigeria’s Constitution and the nation. He encouraged personnel to use the Easter celebration for prayers against negative forces hindering the nation’s progress and expressed hope that the Lenten Season’s spiritual lessons would inspire greater dedication to their duties.
